Mad Tea Party

Mad Tea Party
Croquet, reviewed 6-30-07
Pink lime, pink grapefruit, white nectarine, wild rose, sage, woody patchouli, bergamot, and ornery hedgehog musk.

Croquet is definitely light, sparkly, and pink. The citrus comes through first, then the rose comes out to play as it dries. Then the musk joins the party. I'm not sure if it's me, but I do like it.

The Dodo, reviewed 10-16-07
Red musk, lemon peel, sugar cane, cassia, white sandalwood, mango, and agarwood.

While The Dodo smelled like yummy fruit on me, it also irritated my skin, so I'll have to pass this on to someone else.

Drink Me, reviewed 9-01-08
However, this bottle was not marked `poison,' so Alice ventured to taste it, and finding it very nice, (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast,) she very soon finished it off.

In the imp, Drink Me is cherry tart and custard. Yum. On me, it's buttered toast, roast turkey, and a little bit of cherry tart. This has to be the ultimate foody scent. It's good, but not something I'd wear every day.

Eat Me, reviewed 5-20-08
Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants.

In the imp, Eat Me is white cake with very sugary frosting. Wet on my skin, it's currants over white cake, but no vanilla. Drying, it's all very currants. Dry, it's juicy currants and maybe some vanilla. I like this a lot, but I don't need a bottle right now.

The Knave of Hearts, reviewed 7-31-07
Crushed roses and blackcurrant tarts.

In the imp and wet on my skin, The Knave of Hearts smells like a pastry. As it dries, a rose starts to come through as well. Dry, the pastry scent is gone and tart fruit has joined the rose. Unfortunately for me, something in this irritates my skin a bit, but not really enough to make me wash it off. The scent is pleasant enough, but not really what I'm looking for.

Mad Hatter, reviewed 3-13-08
A gentlemen's lavender-citron cologne unhinged by the feral pungence of black musk and a paroxysm of pennyroyal.

On me, Mad Hatter is lavender, vanilla, and mint. It's not what I was expecting, but I love it just the same.

Mouse's Long and Sad Tale, reviewed 10-14-07
Vanilla, two ambers, sweet pea and white sandalwood.

Wet on my skin, Mouse's Long and Sad Tale is vanilla and sweet pea. Almost too sweet. Dry, it's much more subtle. Still strong but not as sweet. I like this a lot.

The Pool of Tears, reviewed 3-15-08
A sea of salty tears drowning out Alice's light floral perfume.

On me, The Pool of Tears is a salty, aquatic floral. It's very pretty and perfect for Spring. I love it.

Queen Alice, reviewed 8-04-07
Carnation, posies, and white amber with a hint of inky treacle, sandy cider, and wooly wine

In the imp, Queen Alice smells like a spicy floral. I guess that's the carnation. On my skin, I smell that and the cider. I like her but I don't think I'll get a bottle just yet.

The Red Queen, reviewed 6-03-07
Deep mahogany and rich, velvety woods lacquered with sweet, black-red cherries and currant.

In the imp and on my skin, The Red Queen is sweet cherries and nuts. I don't know where the nuts are coming from, since they're not listed. As it starts to dry, the woods come out. At one point, I get a whiff of cedar. Dry, the cherries have settled down and are mingling well with the woods. While I don't think it's really me, it's a very nice sent, one I'll definitely keep around.

Two, Five & Seven, reviewed 4-05-07
Bulgarian rose, Somalian rose, Turkish rose, Damascus rose, red and white rose, tea rose, wine rose, shrub roses, rose, rose, rose ... and just an itty bitty bit of green grass.

In the imp and on my skin, Two, Five & Seven is roses galore! Tea rose comes off the strongest, but that's probably because I used to wear tea rose perfume. Still, this is better -- fuller, more bodied. I can't detect any grass, but I think if I let the imp age, it might come out.
