Ars Draconis
Dragon's Blood, reviewed 9-02-07
Powerful, commanding, blazing with strength.

I've tried three DB blends previously (Blood, Blood Lotus, and Dragon's Musk) but this is my first time trying Dragon's Blood itself. The oil reminds me of cough syrup. But the smell is divine! A sweet, spicy floral, definitely not what I was expecting but a very pleasant surprise.

Dragon's Bone, reviewed 1-03-08
Dragon's blood resin with white sandalwood, dusty orris and crisp blondewood.

On me, Dragon's Bone is plumeria (which dragon's blood smells like on me) and a little dust. It's not my favorite dragon's blood scent, but I do like it.

Dragon's Claw, reviewed 7-02-08
Dragon’s blood resin and three sandalwoods.

Wet on my skin, Dragon's Claw is just dragon's blood resin (which turns to plumeria on me). As it dries, a hint of sandalwood starts to show. While I love DBR, not enough sandalwood shows to make it distinctive, so I'll pass this on.

Dragon's Eye, reviewed 9-03-07
Dragon's blood resin, lily of the valley, lilac and galbanum.

I don't get any lilac or galbanum from Dragon's Eye. What I do get is lily of the valley and plumeria, which is what dragon's blood smells like on me. The two flowers work very well together. I may get a bottle of this.

Dragon's Heart, reviewed 7-03-08
Dragon's blood resin, red and black musks, a throb of fig and a sliver of black currant.

On me, Dragon's Heart is just dragon's blood resin (plumeria on me) and musk. I like it, don't get me wrong, but it's like a weaker version of Dragon's Musk. I hope age will bring out the other notes or I'll have to pass it on.

Dragon's Hide, reviewed 7-07-08
Dragon’s blood, leather and a hint of smoke.

On me, Dragon's Hide is dragon's blood (plumeria on me) and a little bit of leather, no smoke at all. I think aging might help, so I'll hold on to this.

Dragon's Milk, reviewed 9-04-07
Dragon’s blood resin and honeyed vanilla.

In the imp and wet on my skin, Dragon's Milk smells like a honey vanilla floral. Unfortunately, it started to burn as it dried so I had to wash it off. I'm not sensitive to any of the listed notes, so I'm really confused. But I'm sure someone else will love it.

ETA 9-18-08: I tried Dragon's Milk again. I think it won't burn if I go lightly.

Dragon's Musk, reviewed 6-26-07
Dragon’s blood and five deep musks.

I probably never would've bought Dragon's Musk myself, so thank you to the Lab for this frimp. I'm always a little wary of any musk blends other than ones that have only white musk. Dragon's Musk surprised me -- the various musks work well together and with the sweet dragon's blood that's floating just above them. It's strong and heady and I love it.

Dragon's Reverie, reviewed 9-05-07
Dragon’s blood resin, poppy, amber and ylang ylang.

In the imp and wet on my skin, Dragon's Reverie smells like sweetened incense resin. As it dried, it took on a hazy, airy quality. For a short time, it smelled like baby powder, but now it's back to the sweet haziness. This would be great for lazy summer days.

Dragon's Tears, reviewed 9-06-07
Salty aquatic notes and bursting with dragon's blood.

On me, dragon's blood smells like plumeria, so Dragon's Tears smells like plumeria and saltwater. It's like I'm wearing a plumeria lei at the beach. I'll definitely keep this one around.

Ladon, reviewed 9-07-07
Dragon's blood resin, golden apple, apple blossom, white musk and hyacinth.

Ladon on me is plumeria (because of the dragon's blood) and apple blossom. I'm not getting any of the other notes. It's light and very pretty. I'm hoping age will bring out more notes.
