Come as you aren't

Hi, everybody. I'm going to try to update more often. Anyway, on to my current project.

In case I haven't mentioned it before, Halloween is my second-favorite holiday, right after Christmas. I love dressing up, the cool specials on TV (Mom hates those exact same specials), decorating the house, and naturally, the CANDY!

Halloween's on a Friday this year, in case you didn't know. As far as anyone knows, they'll let us wear our costumes to work again this year. I won third place last year for my Harry Potter-inspired sorceress. This year, I'm going as ... a gypsy. Now, anyone who knows me IRL knows that I've been a gypsy a couple of times before. What can I say, I like it.

This year, I'm going all out. I have this gauzy broomstick skirt with all sorts of patterns on it (I really hope it still fits, otherwise I'll have to buy a new skirt, and the one I liked isn't cheap) and a lot of costume jewelry. I bought a white peasant blouse, a silver anklet, and one of those "slave" bracelet/ring combinations at The Pyramid Collection. I think I'm just going to wear black velvet slippers on my feet. That's still up in the air.

I have an acrylic crystal I bought during my contact juggling phase, and I also ordered a tarot deck from The Pyramid Collection. I plan to brush up on the basics of scrying, tarot, and palm-reading (not that I believe in any of that stuff, it's just for fun).

One of my coworkers is going to let me borrow a pair of large, clip-on gold hoops. I still need a scarf for my head and a shawl, but I'm working on that. Hopefully, I can get to Nobbies sometime soon. Otherwise, anyone know where I can find a long, rectangle silk (or a good substitute) scarf (preferably colorful) and a fringed shawl?

I may be in over my head, but I'm going to try to make a velvet pouch for the crystal ball and tarot deck. I ordered some velvet scraps, ribbons, and beads from a fabric site. Keep your fingers crossed.
