Personal: Making headway on my Halloween costume. Blouse, check. Skirt, check. Crystal ball, check. Tarot deck, check. Jewelry, some but not as much as I'd like. Bag for tarot deck and crystal ball, working on it.
Have I mentioned that I'm taking night classes through one of the junior colleges? Philosophy 101 on Tuesdays at one of the local high schools and Psychology 101 on Thursdays at another local high school.
My Philosophy teacher is something else. The first day of class, he had to remove the American flag from the chalkboard as it was in his way. What's funny is that he said something like, "We need to get rid of the propaganda." I'm sure he's patriotic (as am I), but it was just funny to hear the flag call that. He also cited that one quote that goes something like, "Patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels." Of course, this is the same teacher that has us listen to very long, boring speeches on tape, etc.
Family: My youngest brother Mark and his fiancee Patty are moving in. They're sleeping at our house but not all of their stuff is moved in yet. Once they're settled, they'll be sleeping in the basement. Part of me is thrilled, part of me is annoyed, but I understand -- Patty's not working nearly as much as she was because of the pregnancy, so they can't afford the rent.
Local: UNL's Huskers (Go Big Red!) are on a winning streak. Let's hope this keeps up.
National: Now it's Governor Ahnuld. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Whichever it is, I'm glad I don't live in California.
