Got home from a very long and boring day of work yesterday (the week between Christmas and New Year's is always slow) to find a package from Amazon. In it was another birthday present from Aunt Penny -- the first season of House, M.D. I'm just blown away by how generous she's been.

Last night's NCIS episode was a rerun. In the glorious tradition of CBS, it was a rerun from last season. Huh? During one of the commercial breaks, there was an ad for CSI, and it made it sound like Grissom is leaving. I wonder if he's really leaving or if he'll be back, like Gibbs. Of course, I haven't followed the show since about the 4th season (IMHO, season 3 was the best, and it's been all downhill from there), so I have no idea what's going on.

After NCIS came the Kennedy Center Honors. I don't usually watch that, but I'd heard that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber was one of the honorees, so of course I had to watch. Sarah Brightman introduced him. Now, for most men, having your ex-wife talk about you at an award show on national television would be beyond awkward, but I've heard Andrew and Sarah are still friends. Sarah showed a few clips from various shows Andrew has done, including her and Michael Crawford in the original production of Phantom of the Opera and clips from the '04 POTO movie. Anyway, Josh Groban sang a few lines from "The Music of the Night." *swoon* If I were Andrew, I would've said, "You're hired!" Too bad Josh is too young to play Erik.

Then I watched the House, M.D. pilot. I had never seen an episode of House, M.D. before, but I've heard nothing but good things about the series. Now that I've seen it, they're all right. I've liked Hugh Laurie since I saw him in Sense & Sensibility, but as House, he just blew me away. It's too bad House is an American though, since Hugh has a great British accent.

RE: Grissom leaving
William Petersen is taking an Hiatus to do a play in RI. Grissom will be going to teach a college course :)

Re: Grissom leaving
Ah, good to know it's only temporary, in case I ever decide to start watching the show again. Thanks. :-)
