I have the strangest taste in movies.

I'll admit it, I liked the original Mortal Kombat movie. My favorite character was Rayden, Christopher Lambert's character. I thought he was incredible.

I avoided Mortal Kombat: Annihilation mainly because the same characters were there, but not all of the same actors. Lambert had been replaced, and I didn't think that whoever the new guy was could've come close to how I liked Rayden -- basically a trickster god with a heart.

Now there's going to be a third movie -- Mortal Kombat: Domination, due out sometime in '04. The original actors for Liu Kang, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Rayden will be back. *cheers* I don't care if this movie ends up being direct-to-video, I'm going to see it.

The question is, should I see Annihilation first? I've heard it's not very good. Has anyone out there seen it?

Update: Nope, not gonna see Annihilation unless someone pays me. I'll stick with the original.

I found out yesterday that actor Alan Bates died Saturday night. The only thing I know him from is the movie Gosford Park. He played the butler, and I think he did a pretty good job.

On top of that, I just found out today that Earl Hindman, who played Wilson on Home Improvement, died on Monday. I loved that show, and Wilson was a great character.
