South Beach Diet, Day One

Okay, so I'm starting the South Beach Diet today. It starts with Phase One, two weeks of no carbs. That means no sugar, no bread, no fruit. But plenty of eggs, meat, and veggies. I had two mini egg/broccoli/green pepper quiches for breakfast. They're edible, but just barely.

Between not getting enough sleep last night (On a Sunday night? Gee, what a surprise.), having to pass on my weekly Starbucks, and my low blood-sugar level right now, it's unsurprising that my tolerance level is rock-bottom. Careful, I will bite.

Pistachios are love God's gift to dieters.

How is it I can eat peanuts but not peanut butter?

I swear, those Fudge Sundae Pop-Tarts in the vending machine are calling my name.

Late Afternoon
I need chocolate!

A tossed salad without hard-boiled eggs and almond slices is just rabbit food.

ETA: Dinner update.

omg...we started south beach today, too. You CAN have pb..all natural and only 2 tbl and it counts as one of your fat.
Of course, every food network tv show that I saw today was nothing but pasta. jeez.
A good website to get some different recipes :

I had that egg cup this morning. blech.

2 tbl of PB isn't really enough. I wonder how that tastes with celery. But you can't have celery and PB without raisins, and I don't think they're allowed till Phase 3.

Thanks for the link! I'll have to look into those.

hahaha. that is the problem..one allowance just won't work without other stuff that goes with it. to be honest, i never had raisins with my celery and pb when i was a kid but can see how good that would be. I do celery and hummus. We buy this 40 spice hummus that is spicey and tastey. :-)
