Afterwards, Mom and I went to lunch at Macaroni Grill. It's kinda like a cross between Olive Garden and Applebee's. Anyway, I had chicken alfredo, my favorite. Good stuff. The tables had paper tablecloths, so I got to doodle while I waited. Mom thought I was too old for that. You're never too old to doodle, I say.
Then Mom and I went to the mall. Talk about packed. Every store had long lines and it was hard to move around with all the people in the way.
Why is it that malls never have enough restrooms? I don't like public restrooms much to begin with, but this one was awful. Again, it was crowded. Two of the stalls were out-of-order. The one I was in had tp all over the floor. I think that was because the tp was so damn cheap -- one-ply and it was like tissue paper. You try to get some off the roll and it would come off in small pieces. The stalls themselves either weren't made correctly or were coming undone because the walls and door kept shifting. Once or twice, I was worried the lock on the door would come undone, the door was shifting so much. The toilet had one of those automatic flushers. You know, the kind that will only flush when you get up. I think that's annoying. The sinks were automatic too. I guess that saves water, but I prefer being able to turn the faucet on and off myself. There was a hand-dryer instead of paper towels, another thing I don't like. They're supposed to be better for your hands, but I don't believe that.
Mom and I went to the American Eagle store (I think that's the name of it) because Mom wanted to get a gift card for Lindsey, and that's one of her favorite stores. I found a long-sleeved t-shirt for Mark -- it's green with a white Oriental dragon on it.
After the mall, we went to Target. I got Dad a big, white Igloo cooler. I also got some really pretty wrapping paper and bows -- we were running out. And, I got myself a copy of LXG on DVD. I hadn't seen it before. It was good. Not great, but good. During some of the action scenes, it seemed like the cameraman wasn't holding the camera steady enough. That was annoying. And vampiress Mina wasn't affected by sunlight. Huh? Anyway, I loved Skinner, and he totally reminds me of Gambit. Dorian Gray was absolutely gorgeous, but he was a little too arrogant for me. Come to think of it, he reminded me of Jareth.
Anyway, then we went to the hospital to visit Kalob, Patty, and Mark. He was actually awake more this time. Patty and Kalob are coming home today. Anyway, Robert and Lindsey stopped by while we were there. Lindsey held Kalob for a long while. She needs the practice for when Reilly comes. :-)
Then Mom and I went to Albertson's to get my birthday cake and ice cream. I picked up a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food, my favorite. I had that while I watched LXG late last night.
For dinner, Mom, Dad, Mark, Robert, Lindsey, and I went to Red Lobster. Since I had alfredo for lunch, I didn't get the crab alfredo (my usual). I got the Admiral's Feast instead. My eyes are bigger than my stomach, so there's a lot for lunch today. Our waitress and one other wished me a happy birthday and gave me a free sundae. I love free food. :-)
Anyway, we're doing the cake and presents tonight so Patty and Kalob can be there too.
