Counting down...

I wonder how many seconds it is till midnight.

I was at Cinescape, an entertainment news site, and they had an article about the Garfield movie.

What? You didn't know there was going to be a Garfield movie? :-) It'll be live-action with CGI animals, like the Scooby Doo movie. Bill Murray will do the voice of Garfield, Debra Messing will do the voice of Arlene, Breckin Meyer will play Jon, and Jennifer Love Hewitt will play Liz, Garfield's vet. Right now, they're saying the release date is June 4, 2004.

If that date sounds familiar, it's because that's also the release date for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Gee, I wonder who will have the better opening weekend. :-)

Anyway, Garfield sounds like a cute movie so far. Cinescape's latest article has a picture of Liz holding Garfield. He doesn't look exactly like the comic strip version (his stripes aren't black, for one thing), but he's still very cute.

omfg...he's so cute!!!

I think Bill Murray would be a good choice. Too bad Lorenzo Music is no longer with us. I love Garfield, always have. I'm terribly excited about the movie:)

I saw the trailer for this online last week... I wasn't too impressed. 8-/

Another movie site mentioned the trailer and they didn't like it either. My computer and online trailers don't mix, so I'll have to wait. How bad was it?

To me, the trailer felt like it wasn't true to the strip, you know? Garfield is all running, jumping, and dancing around. Garfield isn't like that. He's lazy, sarcastic, and funny. Everything in the movie is live action except Garfield, and I have to agree With Alexa... Lorenzo Music was so much better. Bill Murray is a poor substitute.

Yeah, Garfield personifies (Or is that cat-ifies? *g*) laziness. But, I've found that teaser trailers don't always match the movies. Maybe by the time the movie is done filming, our favorite orange feline will be back to his sarcastic self.

I really have to try to at least hear the trailer.

Au contraire.

Garfield has been known to dance. Sometimes he will even put on a backyard fence show. Much to the delight of Jon's boot-tossing neighbors.

Yeah, that's about as active as Garfield gets, and he doesn't do that very often. :-)

I love Garfield too. I can't wait to hear Bill Murray do the voice. I wonder if Garfield will talk to the camera.
