Speaking of names, during yesterday's First Birthdays on WOWT, there was one baby girl named Echo. The Greek myth geek side of me loves that, but I can't help thinking that she's going to get teased when she's in school. Maybe she has a middle name she can go by. That would be my guide for naming -- if you insist on giving your kid an unusual first name, give them a common middle name so that they have something to fall back on if they don't like their first name.
Um, Chris O'Donnell's character can't die. I don't care if he got shot multiple times -- he wasn't dead by the time the scene ended, so he might still be alive when the spin-off starts. Yeah, I know, his chances aren't good, but this isn't a documentary -- the writers can do anything as long as it's semi-believable. According to the teaser for next week, someone's going to die. As long as it's Ziva's lover and not Ziva, Tony, or anyone else in the opening credits, I'm fine. Except for maybe Vance. I doubt he'll be director much longer and I don't like him much. He's expendable.
I'll admit it, I thought it was time for Ty (as much as I love the guy) to go home. To that end, I gave all of my votes to Shawn, Kim, and Melissa (I was certain Gilles' die-hard fans would carry him through). So what happened? Kim and Derek were sent home. The hell? Ty's a sweet guy and obviously has a lot of fans, but really, this week was the quarter-finals. We should be down to the people with the most talent. So now, I'll divide my votes between Melissa and Shawn. I didn't get up in time this morning to vote for Mayo in the pros competition, but I hope he makes it through, despite how odd I think his smile is.
