Mom gave me an early Christmas present today (she wanted to make more room in the spare bedroom and the box took up too much space). She said that as a "young professional," I needed a purse that was more stylish and age-appropriate. The American Eagle purse I've been using (that holds just about everthing I can think to stuff in it) isn't adult enough, apparently, so what does she give me? A red leather Tignanello purse. (Don't ask me to pronounce the name, I don't have the faintest idea.) I think the design is called a shoulder bag. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the present very much (this is by far the nicest purse I've ever had, and I had a Gucci purse when I was in elementary school), but the thing is I'm not one for designer labels. Unless you count BPAL, and it's not like you can see the name on my skin. :-) Anyway, the most common clothes brands I wear these days are Denim & Co (a QVC brand) and White Stag. Most of my jewelry is costume or semi-precious. I'm not fancy, I'm not very fashionable (though, I'm more now than I was five years ago). I guess I feel a bit (alright, more than a bit) undeserving -- this purse is out of my league.
Still, it's a gorgeous purse, I just need to get used to having something so nice. But now I need to go to Office Depot and find a smaller dayplanner.
