(from televisionaryblog.com)
Showtime has ordered thirteen episodes of historical drama The Borgias, which will revolve around the infamous 15th century Italian crime family and will star Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo Borgia. Project, which is being viewed for a 2011 launch, is written by Michael Hirst (The Tudors), who will executive produce with Neil Jordan; the latter will direct the first two episodes. "I can guarantee you've never seen a family quite like this before," said Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt, "and nor could you make up the outrageous twists and turns of their epic saga." (Hollywood Reporter)

Yes! Now that was a screwed-up family. If Rodrigo Borgia is the Borgia I'm thinking of, he's the one that bought his way to the papacy (and that's just the start of his scandalous reign). Definitely not one of the saintly popes, but since I love historical scandals, this is gonna be great. (And having Jeremy play him is just the icing on the cake.)

Also, the soundtrack CD to Syfy's Alice comes out tomorrow and the DVD comes out March 2! I have both on my Amazon wishlist (trying to save money this year).

Also on March 2, the guy who co-wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is coming out with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Yes, that's on my wishlist too.
