Alright, there are some flowers up -- tulips, irises, daffodils, and narcissuses (narcissi?). But those flowers aren't around here, just in neighborhoods like my parents'. The cherry trees in my backyard have cranberry-colored leaves but no flowers yet. If I remember correctly, those won't be in until later this month. I'm toying with buying either a birdfeeder or a birdhouse. I have to ask the apartment manager if that's okay.

Other signs of Spring? I already mentioned the drunk robins. We had our first thunderstorm of the season Monday night. The temps are now steadily above freezing even in the middle of the night. We're not out of the woods when it comes to snow and ice, though -- that won't be until Mother's Day.

April is when a girl's thoughts turn to productivity. I'm bouncing back and forth between Mom's "Virtuous Woman" and my "three white roses" projects. (For those keeping track at home, I'm going to finish either Linds or Bobby's belated Christmas gifts once I'm done with Mom's Mother's Day gift.) Speaking of roses, I ordered a cross-stitch version of Soul of the Rose yesterday. Like I need another project. Still, it's one of my favorite paintings and it was on sale.
