Technically, it's not winter yet, but we had our first blizzard of the season all day yesterday. 2 inches of snow is normally not something to worry about, but that plus 40 mph winds (with gusts up to 50) is bad. Mark, in his infinite wisdom, went God-knows-where last night. With a chest cold. He's not home yet.

Mom has a lot of time off coming up and has asked to borrow any chick-flick movies I have. Since she has already shot down my Jane Austen movies, that doesn't leave much. See, my DVD collection can be divided into Jane Austen movies, comic book movies, and other. She shares my love for romantic Christmas-themed TV movies, so I said I'd bring over Mr. St. Nick. As for anything else, I'll have to look. She did express interest in my Christy series box set. Somehow, I doubt Beauty and the Beast seasons 1 and 2 will interest her.

Entertainment Weekly recently had a poll of readers' favorite Christmas movies. In no particular order, I'd have to say my favorite Christmas movies are Mr. St. Nick, Muppet Christmas Carol, Mickey's Christmas Carol, A Christmas Carol: The Musical, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Home Alone (just the first one), The Santa Clause (again, just the first one), White Christmas, All I Want For Christmas (with Leslie Nielsen as Santa), and there's probably more I can't think of at the moment.
