Garden of Glass Roses, reviewed 03-25-11
The sweet scent of roses, mingled with living glass and the slow deep gray of stone.

Apparently, Luna Torquill's Garden of Glass Roses is a garden of glass tea roses, since that's the rose I'm getting. After it dries, I smell what I'm guessing is the stone and glass coming through, tempering the roses. This is good, but not as nice as I was expecting.

May Daye, reviewed 06-09-11
The Fetchingly sweet smell of burnt sugar and ashes.
May is Toby's Fetch, a lookalike death omen with Toby's memories. Personality-wise, she's sweet and perky, the opposite of Toby. Ashes are the scent of dying magic in Toby's world, so that and the sugar make it perfect for the scent of May's magic. On me, this smells like a blackened marshmallow. It's good but not something I'd wear everyday.

Rose Goblin, reviewed 12-17-10
Peat moss, red roses and a prick of the thorns.

Spike the Rose Goblin (and Toby's newest pet) is one of my favorite characters. Rose Goblin smells like roses and peat moss, and the two scents are about even in strength on me. I think it would be great to have a pet that smelled like this.

Sylvester Torquill, reviewed 06-10-11
Daffodils, dogwood flowers and golden Vernal musk.

Sylvester is Toby's liege lord, and his magic smells like daffodils and dogwoods. I don't think I've ever smelled dogwoods before, but the daffodil is front and center. The musk is somewhere underneath, peeking out every so often. This is good.

The scent of copper and fresh grass.

Seanan McGuire's October Daye series is one of my favorites, and Toby is a great character. Copper and grass is the scent of her magic. The perfume is grass floating over copper. It's very light and I think it would be perfect for summertime. Not to mention the upcoming book release days.

Tybalt, reviewed 12-15-10
Civet musk, pennyroyal, leather and wild honey.

In the bottle and wet on my skin, it was honey and some pennyroyal (a nice mint scent). Drying, it was a lot of honey (my skin amps honey like you wouldn't believe), some musk, and some leather. Dry, it's a lot of honey, some pennroyal, musk, and leather. This is really good. Musk and pennyroyal are the scent of Tybalt's magic, leather is his leather jacket, and I think Toby once described his voice as being like honey. I love this.

4 out of 5 stars.
