Personal: Let's see. My wand and scarf came yesterday. I love them. Rachel wants a wand for her birthday in December. After today, I am off for the next four days. *boogies* Mom, Lindsey, and I went to Red Lobster for dinner last night. I had the crab alfredo (yum!) and a watermelon lemonade, which tasted like a liquid watermelon Jolly Rancher. Really sweet.
Family: Mark goes in today for surgery on his eye to stop the spread of his glaucoma. In two weeks, he'll go in to have it done on his other eye. Wish him luck. Lindsey's miserable with Robert away at the police academy, but he'll be home tomorrow night. She said her cat Valentine, who's not the brightest of felines, got into their unused fireplace yesterday and got covered with ashes. Consequently, she got a bath. Their other cat, Sandy, didn't recognize Valentine after the bath because she didn't smell the same, so Sandy hissed at her. *rolls eyes*
Local: The fee for a speeding ticket in Omaha has gone up $25. Like that will really get people to slow down.
National: Want a piece of the Rock? No, I'm not talking about the WWE wrestler/actor. The National Park Service is selling pieces of Alcatraz for $4.95.
International: The International Olympic Committee is voting today on where the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held. Nominees are Vancouver, British Columbia; Salzburg, Austria; and Pyeongchang, South Korea. No matter who wins, I bet there will be rumors of bribery. Scandal and the IOC go together like, well, scandal and politics.
